Throne of Blood
About the Production
Throne of Blood is the first stage adaptation of legendary Japanese director Akira Kurosawa’s 1957 film, which was a landmark adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth fusing elements of Noh Theater. The production combines visual and aural elements from the film with ritualistic pageantry, elaborate sound score, grand sets and costumes evoking the visceral power of Kurosawa’s masterpiece for contemporary audiences.
