Creative Aging
PCC’s Creative Aging program offers elders the opportunity to deepen social connections, develop new skills, and make meaning out of shared stories and life experiences through a supported documentary theater and storytelling creative process. This powerful and poignant experience is rooted in the company’s Undesirable Elements methodologies, inviting participants to reflect on their personal and community histories and explore theatrical techniques leading to the rehearsal and performance of a theater piece based on their true stories. Abundant evidence shows that creative aging experiences improve the well-being of older adults, and past participants consistently report increased social connections, enhanced creative expression, and a stronger sense of purpose.
