About the Production
Secret History is an interview-based theater production that explores the mysteries of cultural identity and traces the displacement of peoples and cultures in the 20th century through the personal testimonies of six immigrant New Yorkers with origins in Japan, Uganda, Tonga, Lebanon, and the Philippines. Secret History draws its dramatic power from the deceptively “simple” act of naming oneself in public.
